Frequently Asked Questions

  • What types of vessels does EverWatch Systems support?

The EverWatch monitoring system is built for marine vessels that can host its hardware and connect to onboard systems. It supports:

Boats and Small Craft with and without NMEA 2000 Networks

    Recreational Boats

Multiple Vessel Types – recreational boats, commercial vessels, sailboats, motor yachts, etc.

  • What are the power requirements?

Your vessel must have either 12VDC or 24VDC power.  Connecting to the standard power DC-bus is optimal.

You may optionally connect directly to a NMEA 2000 backbone for power, however, this must remain fully powered at all times.

  • Is your software suitable for both recreational, commercial or fleet customers?

EverWatch System has been designed to and function to suit owners, captains, operators, and large commercial fleets.  The system allows for individual vessel management and permission management by user to effectively manage your assets.

  • Do I need a subscription to use the EverWatch Controller?

Yes, a subscription is required for using the EverWatch Controller and service.

The subscription covers access to the free software updates for life, mobile app updates, notifications (SMS, push, phone and email) and optionally cellular data network (for sending real-time updates) if you do not already have WiFi onboard your vessel.

  • I have WiFi on my vessel, do I need to subscribe to the optional cellular data service?

That is up to you!  If your vessel already has WiFi (e.g. StarLink or similar), and you do not wish to have cellular data service, you may elect to purchase the “WiFi Only” plan at a reduced annual fee.

  • My vessel has several cabins, doors and hatches can I monitor each area?

Yes! The EverWatch Controller can handle up to 100 different external sensors including temperature, door/hatches, smoke detectors, and more.

Within the app during each sensor setup, you can name the sensor (e.g. Main Salon Door, Cabin #2 Temp) so you can easily reference and understand the notifications you may receive.

  • What is the warranty of the EverWatch Controller?

  • My boat does not have NMEA 2000, can I still use this?

Absolutely! You just will not see engine, tank or transmission warnings.

  • What kind of notifications will I receive and how do I manage this?

Notifications can be configured on every aspect of the EverWatch Controller.  Monitoring nearly 20 different aspects of your vessel.

A notification list can be setup to include one or more individuals to be instantly alerted in the event something is detected outside of the defined thresholds.

Instant alerts are configurable to include: email, phone call, SMS and push notifications.
